Kentucky’s Southeastern Conference opener was delayed when South Carolina stopped basketball activities due to COVID. Originally set for next Tuesday, December 29, the game is postponed without any makeup date yet. Kentucky will now reject SEC games in Starkville on Saturday, January 2nd.
However, John Calipari may choose to add another opponent outside the conference to the schedule on the night of Dec. 29 to fill the opening in South Carolina. The UK has an open non-conference game to play due to the cancellation of the Detroit Mercy game, and KSR’s own Matt Jones hears a well-known program can step in and play Cats between the Louisville and Mississippi State games.
