Washington football team owner Dan Snyder calls one of the team’s minority owners … flatters out and claims the guy is blackmailing him in hopes that Snyder will unload the NFL series.
Snyder made a statement that Dwight Schar, part of the team’s ownership group, has threatened to leak information related to allegations of sexual misconduct from former WFT employees.
In the documents obtained by TMZ SportsSnyder says Schar is aware that an independent investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing – but he claims that Schar repeatedly leaked information about the case to the Washington Post and other media and tried to smear him.
As for the extortion claim, Snyder claims that Schar told Snyder’s lawyer that he had a bomb that would “kill Dan” if it came out … and added that he would release it if Snyder did not “just sell the team. “
According to the doctors, Schar also had the investment banker for WFT minority owners in the mix. Snyder claims that the guy texted him: “You know what I know and what I’ve never talked about … If you want to, as it is **, we’ll show it too.”
As we have reported, Snyder has long suspected that someone was leaking harmful stories for various websites to discredit him – but until now he had not named names publicly or even in court.
Snyder’s statement puts it all open – he’s in a civil war with members of his team’s ownership. A small background … these minority owners can not get the full value of their investment unless Snyder, the majority owner, agrees to sell. Cheating certainly insinuates that this is Shar’s motive.
As Snyder says in the documents, “I am fighting on several fronts for interests that extend beyond just me, including for the team that I love, as well as my family, and can swear to this court that the accusations I leaked were wrong. information to the press is false. “
