‘Cyberpunk 2077’ patch target saves file boundaries on PC, crashes on consoles

Another day, another patch Cyberpunk 2077. The 1.06 hotfix is being rolled out on PC and consoles (no word on Stadia yet), and while console players will hopefully benefit from improved memory management to reduce game crashes (especially on memory-limited PS4 and Xbox One systems), main solution is on PC.

Unfortunately, players had discovered that if your save file exceeded 8 MB (often due to the design or collection of many items, as mentioned on a GOG support page), it could be corrupted and you would lose your progress in the game. The patch does not help those already affected, but the limit has now been removed, but the game’s approximately 13 million players (less any recent refunds) can download it now, with the update coming in just under a gigabyte on PC, and about 15 – 17 GB on Xbox and PlayStation.
